PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA — Indonesia’s palm oil industry continued to show strong performance in June 2025. According to the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI), crude palm oil (CPO) production in June climbed to 4.82 million tons, up from 4.16 million tons in May. Production of palm kernel oil (PKO) also grew, reaching 465,000 tons compared to 396,000 tons the previous month.
“Cumulatively, CPO and PKO output from January to June 2025 stood at 27.89 million tons, a 6.51% increase from the same period last year, which was 26.19 million tons,” said GAPKI Executive Director Mukti Sardjono, in an official statement received by Palmoilmagazine.com on Friday (22 August 2025).
Domestic consumption showed mixed movements. Usage for oleochemicals rose to 192,000 tons (+2.67%), biodiesel consumption strengthened to 1.08 million tons (+3.95%), while food consumption slipped slightly to 800,000 tons (-0.37%).

Exports surged significantly during the same period. Total palm oil exports in June 2025 reached 3.61 million tons, up 35.37% from 2.66 million tons in May. The sharpest jump came from refined palm oil exports, which hit 2.60 million tons (+32.13%), followed by CPO exports that soared to 418,000 tons (+155.67%). In contrast, oleochemical exports dipped slightly to 420,000 tons (-3.74%).
The combination of higher production and a sharp rise in exports highlights the positive momentum of Indonesia’s palm oil industry amid global market dynamics, while also underscoring the sector’s critical role in supporting the national economy through the second half of 2025.
