PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to achieving national energy self-sufficiency within the next five years. Speaking with conviction during a Halal Bihalal gathering with retired Army officers and the extended TNI-POLRI family on Tuesday (6/5/2025), Prabowo emphasized Indonesia’s strategic potential in key global commodities like nickel and palm oil.
“The world is facing major challenges that demand we rise to the occasion. Indonesia must recognize its vast potential, particularly in palm oil, which has now become a critical commodity,” he stated, as reported by Palmoilmagazine.com.
Highlighting the economic strength of palm oil, Prabowo noted that Indonesia is capable of producing over 65 derivative products from palm oil, including fuel. “We no longer need to spend nearly USD 40 billion annually on fuel imports. With palm oil, we can produce our own,” he said.

Prabowo also extended an invitation to international partners to collaborate in unlocking palm oil’s full potential. “If we can do it, so can they. Let’s work together to make the most of Indonesia’s extraordinary palm oil resources,” he urged.
He concluded with a powerful call for national pride and independence. “We must never be servants in our own land. We must stand tall. It’s either we succeed or we die trying. Our nation must not be reduced to dependency,” he declared.
With bold ambition and a fiery nationalistic tone, Prabowo casts palm oil as a pillar of Indonesia’s future energy strategy—envisioning a self-reliant, globally influential Indonesia leading the way in sustainable fuel production. (P2)
