The price increase has been welcomed by palm oil smallholders in Subulussalam, who hope the upward trend will persist through the end of the year. Over the past few months, palm oil prices have fluctuated due to volatility in the global vegetable oil market and shifts in biodiesel industry demand.

With prices now exceeding IDR3,000/kg, smallholders’ incomes in Subulussalam are expected to rise, bringing renewed optimism to smallholder plantations in the border region between Aceh and North Sumatra.

The local government, through Distanbunkan, continues to monitor price movements while promoting stronger partnerships between mills and farmers to ensure smooth distribution of harvests and maintain stable pricing. (P2)
