PALMOILMAGAZINE, Mendalo – Jambi University (UNJA) has officially partnered with the Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP) to strengthen the country’s palm oil industry. Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at the Movenpick Hotel, Jakarta, on Wednesday (August 20, 2025), BPDP granted full scholarships to 30 students from the Diploma in Chemical Analysis program at UNJA’s Faculty of Science and Technology (FST).
This collaboration reflects both parties’ commitment to nurturing highly skilled human resources to advance the government’s major agenda of palm oil downstream development. BPDP sees graduates of the Diploma in Chemical Analysis as playing a crucial role as experts capable of transforming palm oil into high-value products.
“This scholarship is vital for sustaining the Chemical Analysis program. The downstreaming agenda requires work-ready graduates with expertise in chemical analysis,” said Dhian Eka Wijaya, Head of the Diploma in Chemical Analysis Program at UNJA, as quoted by Palmoilmagazine.com from UNJA on Monday (September 8, 2025).

The BPDP scholarships cover all student needs over the three-year study period, including tuition, certification, living expenses, and transportation. The program will commence in the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.
Dhian added that this support also sets a benchmark for future collaboration. “We hope this partnership will continue. However, strong support from the university, particularly in providing adequate laboratory facilities, remains essential,” he noted.
The UNJA–BPDP partnership not only addresses the sustainability of the academic program but also represents a concrete step in supporting the transformation of Indonesia’s palm oil industry. Moreover, it serves as a model for other universities seeking to establish strategic linkages with the industry. (P2)
