PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara (Persero) has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that all employees of PT Duta Palma receive their rightful benefits. The statement was made during a coordination meeting held by the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) in Jakarta on Tuesday (Aug. 5), addressing labor issues within the company.
The meeting, chaired by Agatha Widianawati, Director of Industrial Relations Dispute Settlement at Kemnaker, was attended by representatives from the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), the Forest Area Management Task Force (Satgas PKH), PT Danantara Asset Management (Persero), and legal representatives of both Duta Palma and Agrinas Palma. The main agenda was to respond to complaints filed by the Indonesian Prosperous Labor Union Confederation (K-SBSI) regional coordinator.
Agrinas Palma Clarifies Role as Asset Manager
Memed Kosasih Setia Putra, Director of HR and General Affairs at PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara, clarified that the company has only been acting as the manager of Duta Palma’s seized assets since March 2025, following an official handover from the Attorney General’s Office through the Ministry of BUMN.
“Since we took over the management of these assets, all employees have been registered with the BPJS social security program and have received their rights. This reflects our concern for the welfare of workers while awaiting a final legal ruling,” Memed explained in a statement to Palmoilmagazine.com on Friday (Aug. 8, 2025).
His statement was supported by Brigadier General TNI Putut Witjaksono Hadi of Satgas PKH, who noted that employee social security conditions have actually improved since Agrinas Palma’s takeover. “Under Duta Palma’s management, not all employees were covered. When Agrinas Palma assumed control, the situation improved significantly,” he said.

Satgas PKH also requested Duta Palma’s headquarters to prepare a complete database for 16 employees nearing retirement for verification purposes.
Ministry of Manpower and BUMN Urge Duta Palma’s Proactive Involvement
Agatha Widianawati urged Duta Palma to take a more proactive role in tracing the records of employees claiming pension benefits. Similarly, a BUMN representative explained that Agrinas Palma’s appointment aimed to maintain the economic value of the seized assets and safeguard employees’ livelihoods.
“The appointment of Agrinas Palma is both a moral and legal measure, but it does not alter the employees’ official status, which remains under Duta Palma,” the BUMN representative said.
Okky Suryono, Senior Executive Vice President for Corporate Secretary & ESG at Agrinas Palma, added that the company’s CEO has instructed that no layoffs be carried out and that all employees—including 10 Duta Palma staff now stationed at Agrinas Palma’s headquarters—should be retained.
“We are merely managing entrusted assets, not taking over employment status. Nevertheless, in good faith, we ensure operations continue and workers’ basic rights are fulfilled,” Okky emphasized. (P2)
