The Stakeholders’ Commitment Would be Told in UN Forum
InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA– Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA)) would attend the conference about palm oil development in the United States (UN) Forum in New York, United States of America (USA). Chairman of IPOA, Joko Supriyono is scheduled to be the speaker on 6 September 2017 to explain the position of the world business about the sustainability issues in the commodity giving the biggest exchange to our country.
“Besides being the keynote speaker in UN, we would make informal meeting with the other stakeholders in USA,” he said in his official statement in Jakarta last week.
United National Development Program (UNDP) invited IPOA to attend the conference that proposed the sustainability issues in economic sector in the developing countries. UNDP also invited the representative of the government of Indonesia in the forum.
Besides Indonesia, the representatives of the government and the world business from Brazil and Liberia were invited. Joko continued, the exchange that reached US$ 18,5 billion, or about Rp 240 billion, palm oil becomes the strategic sector in Indonesia. Besides palm oil hires more than 5 million workers and develops the economy in the remote areas. (T3)
