Indonesia Takes Costa Rica to Join CPOPC
InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA–Secretary of External Affairs, Indonesian Republic, Retno Marsudi did billateral meeting with Secretary of External Affairs, Costa Rica, Manuel Gonzalez Sanz to discuss everything to empower the cooperation between the two countries.
“This is the first official visit of Secretary of External Affairs, Costa Rica in Jakarta. This year, we commemorate 32 years of diplomatic cooperation between the two countries,” Retno Marsudi recently said in Gedung Pancasila, Ministry of External Affairs, Jakarta, as quoted from beritasatu.com.
In the billateral meeting, both Secretaries discussed the cooperation in many sectors, including the trade.
“We discuss the prior in trade. The trade volume in the two countries is not better yet but it tends to increase. In 2016, the trade value reached 97% compared to the previous year,” Secretary Retno said.
She also thought, the positive trade in the two countres would be increased by advantaging Costa Rika as the entrance to Central America.
The billateral trade between Indonesia and Costa Rica increased almost twice in 2016 to be US$ 59,6 million compared to the trade in 2015 which reached US$ 30,2 million.
As the palm oil producer countries, Retno also takes Costa Rica to join Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC) to promote sustainable palm oil together. (T3)
