Haryanto Tedjawidjaja: No Prediction to Work in Palm Oil
InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - Life is just like the wheel. It keeps running and going on and on. The fortune could be the same like the wheel. It is sometimes up and sometimes down. Life is unpredictable. For example: someone who studied majoring engineering could be businessman or developing something which has no background years before.
This is what Haryanto Tedjawidjaja experiences. Years before, Haryanto had no interest or career and studied in palm oil plantation sector.
Haryanto studied in Economy as accountant. Just like his background, after graduating from his college, he was an accountant and about in 1982, he worked in Drs. Hadi Sutanto & Co., as the correspondent of Price Waterhouse & Co. “I did not have background in palm oil sector,” he recently said in Jakarta.
When being an accountant, for the first time, he knew palm oil industries closer. Haryanto said, he became one public accountant in PT PP London Sumatera, about in 1987’s.
From the moment, Haryanto starts to know palm oil industrial background, starting from the calculation to plant and facing orangutan directly in Gunung Lauser National Park. “I knew orangutan and watched it in person when auditing palm oil plantation company,” he said. (T2)
