Doritos Prosecuted to Use Sustainable Palm Oil
SIDNEY – Doritos, name of brand of seasoned tortilla chips produced by American food company Frito-Lay (a wholly owned subsidiary of PepsiCo) protested by the consumer organization in Australia named SumOfUs.
Activist group SumOfUs spokesman Chris Wright said “The land clearing endangers animals like orangutans and Sumatran tigers whose habitats are destroyed, and promotes slavery or unsafe working conditions at plantations”, as written by Seven News, on Wednesday (12/11/2014).
He added, “Right now the biggest snackfood corporations around the world have made decisions to only supply sustainable palm oil, and we’re calling on Doritos and PepsiCo to do the same”. (T4)
