Profession certification scheme
to increase the quality of workers in plantation sectors, the profession certification scheme for the head assistant and plantation assistant have been ready to implement. but the manager and the supervisor scheme are still discussed and formulated.
The government of Indonesia through the Ministry of Agriculture confessed, it is quite complex for Indonesia to challenge the AEC (ASEAN Economic Community) such as, the human resources provision which are not maximal, the less selective import products, the bad infrastructure and other weaknesses which become the government’s homework.
Besides the quality and quantity of agricultural products which need to increase, national agriculture human resources are potential to be fulfilled by the free trade that the worker having certain skill would work and the recommendation from the industries. So the ministry is developing the profession institute to increase the quality and quantity of the certificate officers and to increase the profession institution effectively.
Referring to Ministry of Agriculture, there have been six profession institutions in agriculture. One of them is LembagaSertifikasiProfesi Perkebunan danHortikultura Indonesia (LSP-PHI). And if there is no problem in 2016, PoliteknikKelapaSawit Citra WidyaEdukasi (PKS-CWE) would be the first level profession certificate institution.
According to LSP-PHI until now, the profession certification scheme for the Plantation Assistant and Head Assistant have been made. The requirements are having certificate in Undergraduate/Diploma 4 in Agriculture, namely in Agronomy, Agribusiness, and Technology, or having certificate in Diploma 3 in Agriculture within 5 years of experience in agriculture or plantation.
Meanwhile they who graduated from Agriculture Senior High School (SekolahPertanianMenengahAtas/SPMA) should have 10 years of experience in agriculture/plantation or have 15 years of experience which is supported by non-formal education or related training with the technic mastering, analysis, skill in the production process/cultivation which are proven by the legal supported documents.
