InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - Korea is one biggest investor for Indonesia and the seventh trade partners. The total investment of Korea in Indonesia in 2016 reached US$ 1,06 billion. Meanwhile the total trade between the two countries reached 2016 or decreased 15,79% than it in previous year.
The official statement which InfoSAWIT got, the exports of Indonesia to Korea reached US$ 7 billion in 2016 or decreased 17,53% in the last five years. While in January-April 2017, the exports of Indonesia to Korea reached US$ 2,64 billion or increased 14,09% compared to the same period in the previous year.
The main commodities of Indonesia to Korea were coal; briquettes, ovoids and similar solid fuels manufactured from coal; copper ores and concebtrates; natural rubber; plywood,veneered panels and similar laminated wood; and chemical wood pulp, soda or sulphate, other than dissolving grades.
The imports from Korea reached US$ 6,67 billion in 2016 or decreased 13,82% in the last five years. While in January-April 2017, the import of Indonesia from Korea reached US$ 2,11 billion or increased 30,81% compared to the same period in last year. The main imports from Korea to Indonesia were synthetic rubber and factice in primary forms; electronic integrated circuits and microassemblies; woven fabrics of synthetic filament yarn; flat-rolled products of iron or non-alloy steel, of a width of 600 mm or more, hot-rolled, not clad, plated or coated; and other knitted or crocheted fabrics.
