It is important to have pesticide technical training which the manager assitant and spray applicator tell. This is to guarantee that the workers really spray what the companies want to get. In the training, it is not theoritical only but also the practice in the field; how to evaluate the spraying results and corrective actions. Having the models in the training, it is hoped, the workers get the goals and benefits. From all the moduls in the spraying technics, we only discuss about the calibration spraying.

Calibration Spraying

Calibration is to ensure, the amounts of recommended products have been applied in the right procedures. It means, the numbers of the solvent water is right in the right area. Why is calibration needed? Because the skills of the spraying workers/ applicators are varied and they need the same skills and abilities. There are two objectives to get in this training, they are, the assistants and the applicators could understand and know the factors which effect the success of the spraying and they could do the calibration with the back spray equipment. In the training, it is suggested to use water without pesticides.

The Factors Influencing the Numbers of Products Applied

Here are 4 basic factors in calibration and how to get and use the data:

1. Water Particle (C)

It is the numbers of which are out of the nozzle in one minute spraying in the normal tools. The calculation is: liter/minute. The way to calculate the water particle is by spraying the solvent into a pail in one minute and pour it to the measuring cup to know the volume the solvents. The using of different nozzle will make different water particle.
