PALM OIL SEED INDUSTRIES IN 2016 STILL FACE THE PROBLEMS AND CHALLENGES

InfoSAWIT, BEKASI –100 students who are the smalllholders’ children study for free in Politeknik Kelapa Sawit Citra Widya Edukasi (PKS-CWE) in Diploma 1 degree.
This is the second period done between Asosiasi Petani Kelapa Sawit (Apkasindo) and Poltek CWE within the financial support from Palm Oil Plantation Fund Mangement Agency (PFMA).
Head of Program Beasiswa Pendidikan and Pelatihan Kelapa Sawit Setara Diploma 1 (D1), Ahdiat Lexi Siregar, said, the participants selected reaching 100 students are from 18 provinces, such as, Aceh, North Sumatera, West Sumatera, Riau, Jambi, South Sumatera, Bengkulu, Lampung, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, West Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, and West Papua.
He also mentioned, the D1 Scholarship program would run in one year or longer than the first period that was only studied in 9 months.
During the time there would be two ways of study, they are, in the first 8 months, the education and traning process would be in Poltek CWE, while the rests, 4 months would be for the Field Practice. “The students would be led to practice in palm oil companies or unions of palm oil plantation,” he said in Bekasi, Wednesday (8/11).
Besides the theoritical education and the practice in palm oil, it is said, the student would get discipline matter in Rindam Jaya in Gunung Bunder for five days. (T2)
